Please join us on Wednesday, November 18th where we will welcome Ahmad Alshwaiki, who will be presenting on a FRP design/history and ACI 562 checks for building projects.

Presentation Abstract - This presentation reviews the evolution of FRP systems as a method for strengthening existing concrete structures, including key design principles and common applications. The presentation also addresses the evaluation requirements of ACI 562, including assessment of the existing structure, determination of required strengthening, and applicable checks when FRP is incorporated into a building rehabilitation project.

Presenter - Ahmad is an Account Manager with FYFE, a Henkel company, and a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Over the past eight years, he has worked in the construction materials industry supporting engineers and contractors on repair and strengthening projects. Ahmad has developed a specialized focus in railroad infrastructure and FRP strengthening systems, helping build and expand a railroad rehabilitation program from its infancy into a recognized market segment. His experience includes working with owners, consultants, and contractors to implement innovative solutions that extend the service life of critical infrastructure. Ahmad is based out of Raleigh, NC and is an active member in AREMA and ICRI.
