Steve Babcock from Metromont Corporation with be giving an AIA certified presentation. The learning objectives of the presentation include:

  • Understand the role and dynamics of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute
  • How precast concrete building systems can be designed to meet various end-use applications; products, services and benefits
  • How architectural, structurally composite, insulated, load bearing wall systems and double tee floor/roof systems are being used to create integrated total precast building systems/envelopes
  • The design possibilities; use of color, form and texture; including cast-in brick
  • The energy savings benefit of insulating a precast wall panel system effectively
  • The economic benefits of incorporating a non-thermally conductive shear tie
  • The coordination requirements of integrating MEP systems when designing a total precast building envelope

 

This meeting is free for members and applicants with membership form/dues and $10 for non-members. Lunch is included.

Purchase an Area C guest parking pass for $5 at the campus entry gate and park in the deck immediately adjacent to the Monteith Research Center (MRC). Alternatively, park in the pay lot next to the Hunt Library and take the short walk over to the MRC. A campus map is attached and there is additional information on the NCSU website. Please plan to arrive early to obtain your pass and find your way.
